Abstract

Inthakhil village is more than 700 years of history with ceramic kilns wisdom. The community's lack of understanding of museum management as a result, the wisdom and cultural heritage have been forgotten and near lost. This research is interested in a way to restoring the community’s wisdoms to making living museum. To create a quality source of knowledge, promote tourism economy and serve as a model for other communities. The research study uses a multi-theoretical framework of the concept of environment and determine the local identity. Use the environment design conceptual framework to propose a design approach to promote the local identity. Use the community tourism and conservation conceptual framework to find ways to promote eco-tourism. And use the concept of living museum management method. By used qualitative surveys, participatory observation and in-depth interviews with local focused groups. The results of the study found that the community identity 5 elements There are 1) The terrain is floodplain, 2) The evolution of the community history 3) The ornaments of the rural Lanna village, 4) The way of life and culture. Discussion of the research found to making Living museum has 4 steps: 1) Collection of historical data to connect with community potential areas, 2) Disseminate potential area identities for community review, 3) Designing community exhibition by participation 4) The activities in the area 5) Evaluation and conclusion of the project. Which should emphasize participation, should not add, change, or create new because that will unsustainable and difficult to carry. Making pride in the community identity lead to the sustainability way of living museum.
